A music production is produced in a recording studio, with the help of a music producer.

Where you have to say, however, that at the present time, only the final production of a musical piece is made in the recording studio.

Sparx Biographies and Mission

Welcome to the musical world of SPARX.

During their twelve year collaboration,SPARX - a flute and harp duo- has attained distinction for their sharply focused mission- to bring forth their music to all people, rather than the more classical approach of waiting for the people to approach the music. Listen and discover why Lowell Liebermann chose SPARX to perform the World Premier of his Sonata for Flute and Harp, Op. 56 (1996). SPARX broad repertoire includes composers of the 20th Century such as Rodrigo, Saint-Saens and Faure and the exemplar works from time honored masters Mozart, C.P.E. Bach and Vivaldi.

SPARX- A world captured on their CDs Christmas Echoes; Reflections & The Power of Two where time and time again you can renew the glow of the experience. SPARX, a world full of the radiance of the warmly lustrous embers of music that just one flute and harp have propelled through the air, that have alit on this disc, forever to be reflected.

The artistic mission of SPARX.

A world where Joan Sparks, flutist, and Anne Sullivan, harpist, are happiest performing and teaching in venues as diverse as the Tatnal School Auditorium in Delaware where they are Artists in Residence, to San Diego and New York City where they won the National Flute Association Chamber Music Competition in 1988 and 1996, to the A. I. Du Pont Hospital in Wilmington where they performed in rooms for children, bedridden, and unable to otherwise experience the wonderful world of chamber music. One would be hard pressed to find a more apt "chamber" for the mission of SPARX-an otherwise bleak province they fill with the sparks, the emotion and intimacy of the SPARX experience.
